Fun Weekends!

Okay, I feel a bit like a truck driver, having logged in over 20 hours in the car over the past two weekends! However, as I type this I'm thinking that my friend Gretchen has me beat. I'm guessing that she's logged in over 24 hours the past two weekends. (on totally different trips than us)

Anyway, both weekends have been a blast. Last week (as I mentioned in a prior post) we did the Harvest Show which is broadcast from South Bend, that was eight hours round trip. This weekend we spent the weekend with the Rudy family from Pennsylvania. We met them in Sandusky, Ohio.

I met Beth Rudy last year. She writes a daily devotion called "Prayer Pal" and God bonded our hearts. Over the past year our boys have also became very good friends via the internet. So we thought it would be fun to get the whole family together.

Beth planned a trip for us at an indoor water park, and we had a blast! Below is a picture of the whole hee haw gang taken beside Lake Erie.

That is funny that you said truck driver, because as we were driving this weekend, Trav asked "are we still going to do that when we retire?" To which I replied "Do what?" I had no idea what he was talking about. He says "Drive cross country in a truck." I say "I didn't know we ever talked about that." Trav says "Yeah, we can be a team and get paid to drive across the country and see things." I say "I don't want to back one of those up." He says "I will do the backing and you can do the driving." Some how this doesn't fit into my ideas of retirement:) I sugested a beach house in Hawaii and he said "Well, I guess I won't retire as early as I had planned." Sometimes our conversations can be a little wierd:) And yes 24 hours is about right for the two trips. Plus the weekend before that I went to Canada and logged another 8 hours behind the wheel. My poor van has almost 50,000 miles on it and it is just over two years old!
