To Friends...

There's a song by Watermark that I enjoy playing on the guitar around the house. It speaks of friends. The chorus says, "you've been more than a friend to me, you fight off my enemies, you've spoken truth over my life. And you'll never know what it means to me, just to know you've been on your knees for me. Oh you have blessed my life, more than you'll ever know."

There's also a line in it that says, "when I leave (you) I feel like I've been with God."

I was blessed today to have lunch with one of my favorite people, Amy Ladd. I hadn't seen her for a couple of months, so I was thoroughly looking forward to it. The above lyrics definitely remind me of my relationship with her.

I went into the lunch thinking that I wanted to sit across from her, and tell her how much she meant to me...but she beat me to it. For upon her arrival, she expressed her love for me. I wanted to somehow bless her today, but instead she surprised me with a gift. A gift that represents hope. She gave me the above wall hanging. I was surprised by the gift, but not her kindness, for she is always SO kind.

I can tell you that this is true: When I leave her, I feel like I've been with God.

I also had fun this evening going to Paula's Bible Study at church. Opening our Bibles, and our hearts. Sharing with one another, and learning more about God, and the amazing way He loves us.

Here's to friends. Friends that we can have pure, godly, intimate relationships with. Opening our hearts to one another, learning about God together, and sharing how God is working in our lives.

I'm a little hurt that your blog title wasn't "To My Dear Friend Stephanie"!!! (I'm sure you meant to, but didn't want to hurt other's feelings! It will be our little secret!)

You summed it up beautifully! I love sharing time with my Sisters in Christ! The light seems to shine a little brighter when we're together! Can you imagine how brightly it will shine when we're hangin' out with Jesus!!
