Psalm 119...Waiting...

In my ongoing commitment to post all of Psalm 119 on my blog, here's verses 81-88.

81-88 I'm homesick—longing for your salvation; I'm waiting for your word of hope. My eyes grow heavy watching for some sign of your promise; how long must I wait for your comfort? There's smoke in my eyes—they burn and water, but I keep a steady gaze on the instructions you post. How long do I have to put up with all this? How long till you haul my tormentors into court? The arrogant godless try to throw me off track, ignorant as they are of God and his ways. Everything you command is a sure thing, but they harass me with lies. Help! They've pushed and pushed—they never let up— but I haven't relaxed my grip on your counsel. In your great love revive me so I can alertly obey your every word.

This is from The Message. However, The NLT says verse 81 this way "I am worn out waiting for your rescue, but I have put my hope in your word."

Have you ever been worn out waiting on God? Waiting on a prayer to be answered? A situation to be changed? A word to be given? Then you can relate to the Psalmist. And like the Psalmist, you're invited to talk to God openly about that. And like the Psalmist, you can resolve to keep a steady gaze on the instructions that God posts. In His great love, you can be revived...even in the waiting. Here's a song that I saw on Robin's blog the other day. It's from the movie Fire Proof. Awesome...

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait

I will move ahead, bold and confident
Takeing every step in obedience

While I'm waiting
I will serve You While I'm waiting
I will worship While I'm waiting
I will not faint
I'll be running the race
Even while I wait

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it's not easy But faithfully, I will wait

Bless You Sister! Praise God for what He is doing. Yes, I am waiting, and today as I woke, as I read the word, as I've been reading blogs and comments I have been constantly reminded that He Is Working in Very Mighty Way right now in my life. I can't wait to write a post about it someday soon. I can feel it. May you be encouraged and blessed as you too, wait on the goodness of our Lord. His ways are perfect, and so is His timing. Hugs, Robin
