Where I've Been

I was noticing that it's been a while since I've blogged. Holy cow, where does the time go?

Looks like the last time I blogged was July 8th. On July 11th we took Denny to the Indianapolis airport and sent him off for his nearly two week trip to Uganda. Then we (my Mom and my kids) drove on to Panama City Beach, Florida where we spent a week. I would love to show you some pictures from our trip, but I put my camera card into what I thought was a slot for it on my computer (wrong) and now I can't get it out. Looks like I'm gonna have to take my computer on a field trip to my workplace to visit our engineers to see if one of them can fix it. Of course I'll have to endure the ridicule that will come along with that. :-)

So, I had one week away from home, and then I had one week at home without Denny, and I didn't get on the computer much that week. I simply tried to stay busy doing stuff so I wouldn't miss him. Pathetic huh? But true.

And on top of all that, God has given me some new songs. I've been doing a lot writing lately. It seems to work that way with me. I'll go forever without writing any songs, and then all of a sudden I'll write a whole CD's worth of songs. So, I'm currently working on about four new songs....writing and arranging, and recording them. I can't wait to share them with you. One I'm really excited about because I wrote it with Joshua Mibourn, our seven year old. He had a great amount of input in both the lyrics and the melody line of the song, and I am loving the way it has turned out. He also sings on it, and he does a GREAT job!! It has been so much fun seeing his little creative mind at work. More on that later!

This week I will fly out Thursday night with my friend Kathy Lay. We are traveling to North Carolina to attend the Proverbs 31 Ministry "She Speaks" Conference. I cannot tell you how excited I am to be going this year. I have made some friends within the P31 organization who are very near and dear to my heart, and I cannot wait to see them!! Not to mention how much fun Kathy and I have together!! Needless to say, I am REALLY excited! Please pray for safe travel for us.
