Happy Anniversary to Us

Tomorrow we will celebrate 20 years of marriage...wow, are we that old? That's amazing. I've noticed that here lately when I go to the mall, I always forget where I've parked! :-) That's sad! I don't think it's lack of memory. I think it's too much multi-tasking. I used to always make a mental note of where I had parked, and now my mind's always thinking about other stuff, EXCITING stuff, not the little things, like where my car might be! I do, at least, remember what department store I parked outside of. When I start parking at Sears, and walking out of the mall at LS Ayres, I'll really be worried!

Anyway, back to the anniversary. Tonight, after dinner, I was relaxing on our front porch. I was thinking back over our marriage, and I was thinking of what my two favorite memories might be, excluding the birth of our children. There were two memories that came to mind immediately. Then, Denny came out on the front porch, and without sharing MY favorite memories, I asked him, "Denny, what are your two favorite memories of our marriage, excluding the birth of our children?" I was AMAZED when he, without hesitation, answered with the exact same memories that I had! I thought, "wow, that's wild!"

So, here are the two favorite memories that immediately came to both of our minds. 1. Our trip to Hawaii. We went there in 1991 with Uncle Lloyd, and Aunt Donna, and my cousins (their daughters) Teresa and Michele. We had SOOO much fun!

Our second favorite memory was 2. (drum roll please) breakfast at Louise Mandrell's house. I wish I had a scanner, and I would scan in pictures of this! We had been at a Louise Mandrell concert, and Denny won some sort of door prize, and the prize was breakfast at Louise's house. So we went, and Louise and Irlene made us breakfast...pretty cool!

As I've thought more about it this evening, there are a TON of memories that come to mind...I'm so thankful for the life we've had together.

I finished reading my Max Lucado book this morning...it left me wanting more. I REALLY liked it.

Alright, I'm just playing around seeing if I can load some video onto my blog. So I decided to try it out with this video of Maren doing the Bogey's commercial. She did this when she was six, so it's been a few years ago....BTW, today is her birthday! Happy Birthday Maren!

Get Motivated

Hey! I had fun today with some fellow co-workers at the "Get Motivated" Conference in Indy. We got to hear some great speakers...Zig Ziglar (I love him), Tony Dungy, Peyton Manning, Colin Powell, just to mention a few. When I got home, Josh asked me if I had a good time in Indianapolettuce...pretty funny. Family News

Please say a prayer for my Mom and stepdad Don today as they pick up the pieces from a house fire that happened early this morning. It destroyed their attached garage, as well as the vehicles in it, and the outside wall of the house that is attached to the garage (which is where she keeps all of her CD's, so it's a GOOD thing that I had her Chris Tomlin CD! :-)

It happened at about 2:30 this morning...she called me at 4:30 after the fire department had left. She was obviously very upset, but still had her sense of humor. My Mom has a knack for picking out the positive things in any given situation. But still, I know your prayers will sustain her...
