This week I’ve ran across several pieces of evidence that prove that kids live here. First, while cleaning out the garage, there on the shelf was a Ziploc bag of locust’s shells. Who goes out in the yard and picks up locust shells? And then saves them in a Ziploc? That was bizarre. And I wonder how many years they’ve been sitting there? Next to the locust’s shells was a turtle shell. Not sure what happened to the rest of the turtle.
Tuesday evening, I came home to tadpoles swimming in a bowl on my KITCHEN counter. So I ate ‘em. (just kidding). That was a first. I’ve never had tadpoles on my counter before.
While cleaning out my car there was a nice big piece of already been chewed gum in the inside door handle next to Josh’s seat. That was nice to put my hand in. I’m guessing that he must have shoved too much gum in and then spit it out right there.

A Reminder From Joshua
The other day, the kids and I were in the van while Denny was paying the bill at Pizza Hut, and out of the blue Josh asked this question:
Mom, are you married to Dad?
I thought he would have known that. Will, Maren and I all chuckled at his question, and I responded with “yes Josh, your Dad and I are married.”
Then Josh said very seriously, “that means that you have to stay with him forever. You can never leave him.”
Not that I’m planning on leaving Denny, but something about hearing that from my six year old, cut right to my heart.
Here's the little man with his new Colts hat. He's pretty excited about it.

I love this Psalm
Have I told you that I love this Psalm? :-) I once heard Beth Moore say that there is a Psalm for every mood you find yourself in.
Here's part 4 of Psalm 119....
25-32 I'm feeling terrible—I couldn't feel worse!
Get me on my feet again. You promised, remember? When I told my story, you responded; train me well in your deep wisdom. Help me understand these things inside and out so I can ponder your miracle-wonders. My sad life's dilapidated, a falling-down barn; build me up again by your Word. Barricade the road that goes Nowhere; grace me with your clear revelation. I choose the true road to Somewhere, I post your road signs at every curve and corner. I grasp and cling to whatever you tell me; God, don't let me down! I'll run the course you lay out for me if you'll just show me how.
When I told my story, YOU RESPONDED. I love that! train me well, Lord, in your deep wisdom. Help me understand these things inside and out so I can ponder your miracle wonders.
Father, barricade the road that goes nowhere, and grace me with you clear revelation. I'm choosing the true road to Somewhere. I grasp and cling to whatever you tell me Jesus. I'll run the course you lay out for me if you'll just show me how.

Part 3 of Psalm 119
17-24 Be generous with me and I'll live a full life;
not for a minute will I take my eyes off your road.
Open my eyes so I can see what you show me of your miracle-wonders.
I'm a stranger in these parts; give me clear directions.
My soul is starved and hungry, ravenous!—insatiable for your nourishing commands.
And those who think they know so much, ignoring everything you tell them—let them have it! Don't let them mock and humiliate me; I've been careful to do just what you said. While bad neighbors maliciously gossip about me, I'm absorbed in pondering your wise counsel. Yes, your sayings on life are what give me delight; I listen to them as to good neighbors!

Psalm 119:9-16
Verses 9-16
How can a young person live a clean life? By carefully reading the map of your Word.
(pray)
I'm single-minded in pursuit of you; don't let me miss the road signs you've posted.
I've banked your promises in the vault of my heart so I won't sin myself bankrupt.
Be blessed, God; train me in your ways of wise living. I'll transfer to my lips all the counsel that comes from your mouth; I delight far more in what you tell me about living than in gathering a pile of riches. I ponder every morsel of wisdom from you, I attentively watch how you've done it. I relish everything you've told me of life, I won't forget a word of it.

Sharing Psalm 119
I love Psalm 119. I Particularly like to read it in The Message translation/paraphrase. There has been many a "quiet time" when I've opened my Bible to this chapter and prayed the prayers along with the Psalmist who wrote them. Here's some info on Psalm 119 as stated in my life application Bible:
"this is both the longest psalm and the longest chapter in the Bible. It may have been written by Ezra after the Temple was rebuilt as a repetitive meditation on the beauty of God's Word and how it helps us stay pure and grow in faith. (just as John, our Pastor, is talking about right now). Psalm 119 has 22 carefully constructed sections, each corresponding to a different letter in the Hebrew alphabet and each verse beginning with the letter of its section. Almost every verse mentions God's Word. Such repetition was common in the Hebrew culture. People did not have personal copies of the scriptures to read as we do, so God's people memorized his Word and passed it along orally. The structure of this psalm allowed for easy memorization. Remember, God's Word, the Bible, is the only sure guide for living a pure life."
Through the next few days, weeks, months, whatever it ends up being, I'd like to share this chapter with you here, and I encourage you to soak it up, make it personal, and pray this scripture back to God. Here's the first part:
Psalm 119 1-8
You're blessed when you stay on course, walking steadily on the road revealed by God. You're blessed when you follow his directions, doing your best to find him. That's right—you don't go off on your own; you walk straight along the road he set. You, God, prescribed the right way to live; now you expect us to live it. Oh, that my steps might be steady, keeping to the course you set; Then I'd never have any regrets in comparing my life with your counsel. I thank you for speaking straight from your heart; I learn the pattern of your righteous ways. I'm going to do what you tell me to do; don't ever walk off and leave me.
I, obviously, bolded the prayer part, what a great prayer. Oh that my steps might be steady, keeping to the course you set; then I'd never have any regrets in comparing my life with your counsel...
