I AM

This Thanksgiving, I am most thankful that God is the great "I AM". I'm thankful that he calls Himself, "I AM". Not "I WAS". Not "I'm gonna be". But "I AM".

So many times, I think that we Christians think, "well, God did that in 'Bible days', but I'm not sure about now..." or we think, "wow, can't wait 'til Jesus comes back, that will be awesome!"

How about now? I ask. How about right now? He is alive and active NOW.

Father, I'm so thankful for you. Thankful for Your ever PRESENT help. Thankful for how you're moving in my life. Thankful for You, and amazed by You.

Call on the great "I AM" today.

"Call on Me, and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things that you do not know." Jeremiah 33:3

"I AM"

Relaxed

I am SOOO relaxed today. I'm not sure why. I'm thinking that my brain has kicked into holiday/vacation mode. Cathy and I had some light jazz music playing in our work "condo" this morning to reflect the current mood.

The mood was quickly interrupted, when our boss called us to quickly get on the phones and sell an upcoming special that we're airing. Darn those bosses. He, evidently, hasn't caught the relaxed mood, nor have my clients. I've already sold the special event, shot a commercial, and have another client who wants to be on the air starting TOMORROW, yikes. However, I'm not allowing them to change my current mood of...relaxed.

Part of the "relaxed" feeling, might be because of last night's community service. It was awesome. I love it when the "church" gets together. I loved looking out across the congregation and seeing my Baptist friends, and my Methodist friends, and my Nazarene friends, and my non-denominational friends. Judy Williams from Trinity Methodist Church gave the message, and quite frankly, I could have listened to her all evening. I really enjoyed her message. Through it I felt God's comfort, and His Love, and I liked being in that "place."

So, anyway, I decided to come to a coffee shop on my lunch hour, away from the hustle bustle, and relax in this very quiet place where they're playing relaxing music, and share my relaxed mood with you.

You might want to call me at 12:55 and make sure that I wake up and go back to work. :-)

Invisaligns

Woo hoo! I’m pretty excited about my new invisaligns. What are Invisaligns? Well you can find out details and see pictures by clicking here.

In a sense, they’re kind of like braces. Except you can take them on and off. So maybe that’s a little more like a retainer. I don’t know. All I know is, since high school I have wanted braces, so I'm excited to finally be getting something to straighten my teeth.

I had seen TV ads for the invisaligns and that peaked my interest. I was never worried about the “visual” effect of braces. I was, however, worried that braces would make my mouth too sore to sing…and I liked the idea that you could take the invisaligns in and out. When we took Maren to get braces, I found out that her doctor also does invisaligns so that worked out perfect.

So anyway, I’m going thru a minor time of adjustment right now, as I get used to wearing these things. But I’m happy to say that they are so much more comfortable today than they were yesterday. Yesterday I was having trouble saying my S’s. So when I called clients and said “this is Melissa Milbourn”, I sounded like Sylvester the cat…it was quite hilarious.

If I understood the doctor correctly, I’ll have to wear them for approximately 30 weeks.

If by chance you’re reading this and might be interested in the same treatment, my dentist is Dr. Jess Holler. What a great name for a dentist!
