Kickball Anyone?
Okay, I'm behind in my reading of the "Just Walk Across the Room" Book. So, this morning I read the part about playing kickball, and it made me recall some great memories of a kickball game that we played this past July, and it made me want to play again. Anyone up for another game of kickball?

Recap
Wow! The Autumn Fest was AWESOME!!! But I was not! I had looked forward to that weekend for a long time and all in all it was great. My only problem was, I was a zombie. I had not slept all week leading up to it. Friday night, I slept from midnight to 4am. and by Saturday morning, I felt like I could barely even form a sensible sentence. Kinda makes it hard when you're the emcee. I don't think I've ever been so tired...it was FUN but I was tired.
This was also the weekend that Christy Sutherland gave the praise team some vocal coaching. That too was awesome. We were all so impressed with Matt and Christy's Christ like attitudes as they ministered among us.
Anyway, I have spent the entire week just trying to chill out and rest, and process various things that God has going on in my life right now. More on that later.
Oh yeah, the other thing I've done this week is eat...ALOT, like a pig. All the things I wouldn't normally eat. Ice cream, qtr pounders with cheese. Major fattening stuff. Last week I had fasted through several meals, I felt compelled to do so. But this week, I've made up for it. In fact, I'm leaving now to go out to dinner! My plan is to start eating normal again tomorrow :-)

Call Me Shirley
Something very strange has been going on at our house recently. Okay, maybe it’s not strange, it’s just something new.
We noticed a couple of months ago that Josh likes to sing his thoughts. We have found this very entertaining. Not sure where he gets that from. (Insert laughter here).
Anyway, last night Josh took things a step further. As I was playing the piano, Josh sat down beside me, and made this request, “how ‘bout you play, and I’ll sing my song.” I thought he wanted me to play a song that he knew so that he could sing it. He corrected me immediately. “No!” He said with much enthusiasm. “You play, and I’ll sing my OWN song”. So we wrote a song right on the spot. Josh kind of sings like a "rapper". I couldn't understand all of his words, but I did hear him mention God a couple of times, so I like to think that we had little "spontaneous worship" goin' on. That was much more fun than playing a game of Candyland.
The other thing that’s cool is that Maren is writing songs, and they’re pretty good! In fact the first one she sang for me was so good that I asked, “are you sure you wrote that?” I believe she’s written two by herself, and one with friends. Her songs are very Hannah Montana-ish. Anyway, last night as Josh and I were composing his masterpiece, Maren was BEGGING me to put music to her songs. Hopefully tonight we’ll have time to do that. Just call me Shirley Partridge.

The Big FOUR-OHHHHH MY!
Well, I'm another year older now. Today I celebrated the BIG one. The Big 4-0h. Yikes!
It was a good day. It started out great as each of our kids surprisingly remembered to wish me a happy birthday.
Then, we all piled in the car, and as we were exiting the subdivision, we noticed that someone had put up a REALLY pretty sign wishing me a happy birthday! What a nice surprise, and one that made me feel extra special. (I have no idea who did that, so if you're reading this, thank you very much!!)
THEN, I walked into work to find a gift on my desk from my friend Amy Ladd...another great surprise!
Today was also the "Day of Caring" at WTHI. A day set aside for the employees of WTHI to give back to the community. So, today was a very light hearted day as the staff worked around Terre Haute painting over graffiti.
Tonight I got an IPOD from Denny and the kids, and some nice gifts from my mom and in-laws, and my Mama made me dinner complete with cake and homemade ice cream!
