Today's devo scripture

I would like to tell you what this scripture means to me today, but then I'd be late getting to work, and that probably wouldn't go over very well. :-) Nevertheless, I want to share this scripture. I'll let the Word speak for itself.

Romans 15:4
"Whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope."

You Take My Breath Away

As odd as it sounds...
as goofy as it sounds...
as old as it makes me sound...

this is the song that I'm worshipping with today. This is the song that is playing over and over again in my mind. I have not heard, or thought of it in years, but the nearness of God today, for some reason, has brought it to mind.

You can go ahead and laugh now :-)

Summer of 2008

It is so hard to believe that the kids are starting school tomorrow! I took this moment in time to capture a few pictures from our summer, and made them into a video.

A Big Day For Josh

This past weekend was an exciting one for Joshua. We finally turned him loose on the 4-wheeler. On his first go around, he nearly ran over his Mama, and there have been a couple of near misses with the dog. But other than that, he's doing amazing. :-) After a couple times around the yard, he was handling it like a pro. It's been fun watching him ride...I've just learned to stand on the porch instead of in the yard! :-)

I love this closeup picture that Denny took...

More of Psalm 119

57-64 Because you have satisfied me, God, I promise to do everything you say. I beg you from the bottom of my heart: smile, be gracious to me just as you promised.

When I took a long, careful look at your ways, I got my feet back on the trail you blazed. I was up at once, didn't drag my feet, was quick to follow your orders. The wicked hemmed me in—there was no way out— but not for a minute did I forget your plan for me.

I get up in the middle of the night to thank you; your decisions are so right, so true—I can't wait till morning! I'm a friend and companion of all who fear you, of those committed to living by your rules.

Your love, God, fills the earth! Train me to live by your counsel.
