Oh My Heart

I love it when God shows himself in a situation, even if it's a very small one. For the past three or four days, I've had a song on my heart. It's an OLD song by Larnelle Harris called "No Wonder They Call Him Savior".

That song has not even crossed my mind for YEARS, until now. To be real honest, I have felt like God is wanting me to minister at a particular place by singing that song.

So, tonight, Josh and I were waiting in the van while Denny went into the house to get something that he had forgotten. While waiting, Josh wanted me to play some music. He said, "Mom, see what CD's Dad has please."

I reached for where Denny keeps his CD's, he only had a handful in the van. I was looking through them when what to my wondering eyes should appear?? A Larnelle Harris CD. I thought to myself, "you have got to be kidding me, out of the five CD's that Denny has in the van, one is a Larnelle Harris CD?!" Though we both love Larnelle Harris, we haven't listened to him in years. I personally, don't think I've seen this CD since the 1990's. I quickly glanced through the songs, and the aforementioned song was on it.

My heart was touched in that simple yet powerful moment of sweet confirmation from my Jesus. Oh that I may be obedient to the call that he placed upon my heart, to minister with that song...He amazes me...

No wonder they call him Savior.

Invisaligns

I'm really excited that this is my last day to wear my Invisaligns!! Invisaligns are an invisible kind of braces. I've had them on since November of 07, so a little over a year. I'm so pleased with both the experience and the results.

I'm typing this post because I have about 5 people each week who come to my blog because they have googled "invisaligns". So if you're someone who's trying to find out more information from personal experience...let me just say that I highly recommend them.

I'll have to wear them while I sleep (as retainers) for two more years, but no more during the day time! Woo Hoo!!

If you'd like more information on "invisaligns" you can go to www.invisalign.com

The Strange Things We Do...

The other night as I sat eating my popcorn, I thought, "there are some strange things that we do here at the Milbourn household." Like, for instance, we put Lowry's Seasoning salt on our popcorn. I'm not sure how that got started. We never did it when I was growing up.

Another really strange thing that we do is, typically around 8:30 or 9PM, when all other normal families are getting ready for bed, we Milbourn's all pile in the car and go for a cruise through town. Is that not strange? It doesn't even matter if it's a school night or not, we still do it. Now, we don't do that every night, but I would say we do that at least three nights a week. Weird. But it has become one of my favorite family memories.

So how 'bout you? Is there anything your family does that's sorta strange, or are we the only freaks out there?

Do We Really Look That Much Alike?

In the past three months, I have been mistaken for my Mom three times. Once was at a baby shower. My cousin walked in, glanced over at me, and said, "Hi Aunt Merle." I said, "Lisa...I'm Missy."

Then, we were at the nursing home the other day, and Mavis said cheerfully, "Hi Merle, how's Donnie (my stepdad)?" I said to Mavis, "I'm not Merle, I'm Missy." Of course she couldn't hear me. So I said it again, but louder, and then again, and again, and again. She kept turning her head and looking at me similar to how a dog does when he doesn't "get" it. So I said, "Donnie's fine." :-)

So THEN, we were at Wal-Mart a couple of days ago, and Hazel was our clerk. She looked at me and said, "man, you cannot deny your Mother, I glanced at you when you first came in the door, and thought you were Merle."

Last night we were at Mom's house, and we both had on our new FCC hoodies. She bought me mine for Christmas, and bought herself one too. So, We snapped a photo. Do we really look that much alike or is everyone else just getting old and losing there sight? :-)
